Personal Data Collected by this web site

When visitors access the site we collect / log the visitor’s IP address and browser ‘user agent’ string as well as URL’s visited on this site.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection and prevention.

If you complete a contact form, the personal data you send us will be processed to contact you according to your wishes.

We require user registration for access to some product information and pricing, you must use an appropriate work email address, and state a valid organisation in order to register. This personal data is only used for the purpose of organisational or personal entitlement verification.

We may use Google reCAPTCHA or other similar technology, to protect personal data and login credentials on this site by verifying you are human and not a bot. This makes Google a data processor.

We may use statistical or individual request information, including source IP address from requests and website activity on this site to protect the site and services from attack or abusive requests. If you scan or attack this site, your IP address may be blocked and shared publicly as an attack source.

Emails

If we email you from this site, a log of the email and metadata will be kept for 12 months. Emails sent and received to Internet-safeguarding.com or savernake.com are kept archived for up to 7 years.

Cookies

This site does NOT make use of third party cookies, analytics, or any unnecessary cookies, only cookies necessary for the functioning of the site are used. 

This site does not track location, use notifications, or use any other “adtech” techniques.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If reCAPTCHA is invoked, it sets a necessary cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) when executed for the purpose of providing its risk analysis to prevent brute force attacks against this site.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with?

We do not buy, sell or share personal data, unless compelled to do so by a lawful request.

How long we retain your data for?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Website log information collected will be deleted after 12 months.

If you are a customer, we retain contractual data including contact information for 7 years after your contractual arrangements end.

What rights you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you by contacting DPO@savernake.com or writing to us at our registered address. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Our products and services and data processing?

If you buy a product or product from us, the contract for that product will include licensing terms, copyright information, and acceptable use of the product or data.
Accessing the product or data will require credentials, accesses are logged for information security and support purposes.

If we process personal data as part of a product or service, including firewall logs that contain personal data of your employees, pupils, students or other third parties, the service order contract will contain a detailed data processing agreement.
Log processing for customers is performed on isolated infrastructure, hosted in the requested country or a complaint country as required by contract.

Our basic firewall log processing services relies on custom logs you configure on your firewall, these do not include source IP address or user information and do not contain personally identifiable data or personal data. This log data is processed in near real time to create statistics and in identify traffic patterns of interest for customer notification / investigation.

Marketing

To the maximum extent possible our marketing does not use personally identifiable data.
Our marketing activities are focused around general awareness of our products and services.

If you are interested in our products, require more information about what we do, why and how we do it, how our products are effective etc. Then we rely on you engaging with us.
If you engage with us, we will not use that personal data for marketing or any other purpose that that engagement.

If you utilise this website, we will not track or otherwise identify you.
If you utilise a search engine or AI to find us we will not use that data to identify you.
If you register on this website to access more detailed information, we will not use that personal data to market to you.
If you receive physical marketing material from us, click a link from or to us, or scan a QR code from us, those links are generic links to relevant pages or information on this site and are not personally identifiable or trackable.
If you followed a link from a social media site to us, Linkedin for example, we will not track that or use any available data to identify you.

Legal

We are Savernake Ltd; Trading as Internet-Safeguarding.com: 

(1) Is the controller for personal data processed in connection with this website and business operations, statutory requirements and contracts and is exempt from registering with the ICO.

(2) Is the controller for personal data processed with respect to prospects, trials, customer and supplier contracts.

(3) May be a processor of personal data for some customers as described in the Data Processing Agreements and contractual arrangements with those customers. This will always be detailed in the service order agreement.

(4) Complies with current Data Protection legislation.

(5) Uses third parties as sub-processors with compliant contracts as follows:
